# Feedback

> submit_feedback lets your assistant report a bug or gap it hit while using Blockworks data, with the request it made and the request IDs involved.

`submit_feedback` is the one tool that writes. When your assistant hits an error, an empty or surprising result,
missing data, or unclear docs, or has to invent a workaround, it can report it to Blockworks with this tool. Every
other tool's errors end with a pointer to it:

```text theme={null}
Error: tabular model "asset-marketcaps" not found (request ID b720c036-b584-4596-92fb-bacdb79e09ba)
If this result looks wrong or incomplete, report it with submit_feedback.
```

The tool sends the same report as the REST [Submit Feedback](https://docs.blockworks.com/api-reference/feedback/submit.md) endpoint, and both
land in the same place.

## When it is called

Once per distinct issue, after the assistant has resolved it or given up, so the report can say what it tried and
any workaround that worked. You can also ask for it directly: "Report that to Blockworks."

## Arguments

| Argument | Required | What it is |
| - | - | - |
| `category` | Yes | `bug` (something failed or returned wrong results), `data_quality` (data that is missing, stale, or wrong), or `feature_request` (data or a capability that was needed and not found) |
| `message` | Yes | What happened, what was expected, what was tried, and any workaround. Up to 4,000 characters |
| `tool` | No | The tool the report is about, such as `tabular_data` |
| `endpoint` | No | The REST endpoint the report is about, if any |
| `request` | No | The exact request: the tool arguments as JSON, or the URL. Up to 2 KB |
| `agent` | No | The agent or client sending the report |

Text over a limit is cut rather than rejected.

## What comes back

| Field | What it is |
| - | - |
| `feedback_id` | The submission's ID. Quote it if you follow up |
| `truncated` | `true` when a field was longer than its limit and was cut |

## What is stored

The report is attributed to your account, whether you connected with an API key or by signing in, so leave out
personal or sensitive data from the conversation. Submissions are free and do not count against usage. Each user
can send up to 60 an hour; past that, the tool returns a `RATE_LIMITED` error and the rest can wait.
